LIFE Groups

A small group ministry began at Norfolk Church of Christ in mid 1994 that has evolved into L.I.F.E. Groups. L.I.F.E. is an acronym for Love, Integrity, Fellowship and Evangelism. LIFE Groups are essentially small groups meeting in members homes for fellowship. These groups have become support center creating family-like atmospheres.

This allows a group to meet a member’s personal needs in a way unique to that individual. Typical meetings include prayer, confession, Bible study, encouragement, and worship.

The first small groups are noted in the New Testament. In fact, the apostles represent a group that Jesus started by calling them to study on a personal basis (Luke 6:13-16).

The New Testament provides us with a church model that includes both formal worship and small group ministries. Our congregation is putting that model to practice by reaching out to each community to create lasting relationships through Jesus Christ.

We love our Sunday mornings, but there’s more to being a church than Sunday worship. Every Sunday night we meet in homes all over Hampton Roads. We eat, we have fun, we study the Bible, we pray for one another. If you’re looking for authentic relationships, LIFE Groups are for you.

Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
