Women’s Ministry

Coordinators: Anna Delcour

The Women of Norfolk Church of Christ have always been involved in the many ministries of the church. In 2004, we decided to form a Women’s Ministry Network to encourage the spiritual growth and develop leadership of other women as well as better coordinate the efforts of all the women involved in the various ministries at Granby Street. Through this effort, we have been able to support each other while fellowshipping and growing together in Christ.

The women of Granby Street do everything from helping out with Operation Uplift dinners to throwing baby showers celebrating the birth of every child. We have brunches for fellowship and serve as teachers, LIFE group leaders and nursery attendants. Potlucks are prepared and food is delivered to sick and shut-ins. In the midst of the flurry of activity we still find the time to be mothers, wives and sisters in Christ.

We also have programs designed specifically to help edify our spiritual walk, like the Ladies’ Bible study that meets on Sunday’s at 9:30. We also have a monthly Ladies’ Craft night that always seems go into the wee hours. Ladies’ bring their crafts like scrapbooking and knitting to the fellowship hall and have a great time as they finish their projects. Our Women In God’s Service program helps you find your own area of ministry to serve the church and community.

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
